How to play blackjack (21)?

Hi, I love playing card games and when my friend told me about blackjack it seemed like a fun game. But the problem is that I don't fully understand the game. How does betting work? I know stuff like don't go over 21 or you bust and you're against the dealer. But if you could give a sum of how the game works that would be great. Thanks.
