Got married but afraid to have because painfull?

I got married last year, until now i,m still a virgin because we never do it. my husband is a very patience person and I feel bad for this. I,m so afraid of making love, Ive heard from my fellow collegues how painfull is it to break your hymen, Shall I go to the doctor to do minor surgery . I don't know but i,m trying to give my level best, each time he tries... I will start crying & imagining the pain. I,m very sad. I really want a baby so badly. but how can I overcome my fear. I love my husband so much, is there any position I can do without pain. I want to make him happy, Ive tried relaxing my self but it doesn't seem to work.
